Roaming innovations from T-Mobile

  • Travel&Surf na týden with a 50% discount
  • Territorial application of the service extended to include Croatia, Egypt and Turkey
  • Data roaming limit now all over the world
  • Lower prices of calls and SMS within the EU roaming add-on

Prague, 28 May 2012 – The time of summer holidays is coming and T-Mobile has prepared several interesting innovations for those who are planning to go abroad. Starting on 1 June, the price of the Travel&Surf na týden (“Travel&Surf for a Week”) bundle will be reduced by 50%; instead of CZK 540, customers will thus pay only CZK 270. Furthermore, the service of financial limits for data services will be extended from the EU to include the whole world. And starting on 24 June, prices of calls and SMS within the EU roaming add-on will be reduced.

“Summer is almost here and we want to help make customers’ leisure time abroad as pleasant as possible,” says František Mala, Marketing Director at T-Mobile, adding: “We are now extending the territorial application of the Travel&Surf bundles to include three popular destinations that Czech tourists like to visit. Travellers can thus enjoy data transmissions for more favourable prices even in Croatia, Egypt and Turkey.”

Travel&Surf bundles offer easy and inexpensive mobile internet access abroad. The service can be activated flexibly for just a day, for one week or for an entire month. Customers can be sure that they spend only a particular amount for the bundle, while being able to immediately check the volume of data used. When using up the data limit, users are asked whether they wish to purchase the same bundle again, switch to a higher-volume bundle or pay for transmitted data.

The ideal bundle for a seven-day holiday is Travel&Surf na týden with a volume of 50 MB, which can be purchased by clients for half-price, i.e. for CZK 270, from 1 June. The special offer is valid until the end of the summer holiday season, i.e. 31 August 2012. However, T-Mobile also offers a daily browsing bundle for 24 hours with a 3MB data allowance for CZK 29. If customers exceed this volume, they will pay CZK 149 for up to 20 MB. Those who are planning a longer stay can purchase a monthly bundle with a data volume of 200 MB for CZK 690. The bundles are designed both for contract customers and for pre-paid card users. Activation is very easy: all one needs to do is send a free SMS with ROADATA IDEN A (for a day), ROADATA ITYDEN A (for a week) or ROADATA IMESIC A (for a month) to 4603, visit the My T‑Mobile website or contact the Customer Centre.

The possibility to set up the Data Roaming Limit, a financial limit for data roaming services, will be extended to include the whole world from 1 June. Until now it could be used only within the European Union, Croatia and Egypt. Now it will be available to all customers on their travels all over the world. The service informs the user via SMS when 80% and 100% of the financial limit for data services have been reached, thus ensuring total control over data-connection costs while abroad. The basic limit is CZK 1,470 but it can be increased or cancelled altogether. The offer is designed for all customers and it is free of charge.

Starting on 24 June, T-Mobile will reduce the prices of calls and SMS within the EU roaming add-on and offer a new EU data roaming add-on with a price per 1 MB and data charged in 1 kB increments.
