SUMMER IN THE FASTEST NETWORK: TABLETS ON INSTALMENTS AND FREE E-BOOKS

Tablets on instalments without interest and with initial payment of CZK 1
Beach books: ten free e-bestsellers with mobile internet activation
“Scouting” microsite with mobile applications and a possibility to send vacation postcards

Prague, 30 July 2013 – On 1 August, T-Mobile will introduce several innovations related to the use of mobile internet and data devices. T-Mobile’s customers will have a possibility to purchase all tablets from the operator’s portfolio on instalments without interest and with an initial payment of only CZK 1. Customers activating mobile internet will receive ten attractive e-books as a free gift. On its special “scouting” microsite, T-Mobile will allow users to send electronic as well as paper postcards.

“Tablets are becoming increasingly popular, but not everybody can afford them. Therefore, we have decided to make these devices accessible to as wide a range of our customers as possible, who will be able to use them in the fastest mobile network in the Czech Republic,” says Dana Tomášková, Vice President Resident Marketing at T-Mobile. The offer of tablets purchased on instalments is valid until 30 September 2013 and is conditioned by concluding a contract for any of the 1-30 GB mobile internet plans for two years.

When signing a contract for mobile internet, each customer will receive a code via a text message or e-mail, allowing him or her to download ten e-books intended for tablets, smartphones and e-book readers free of charge. Users can download the books from www.t-mobile.cz/knihy. The code is valid until the end of 2014 and enables customers to download, an unlimited number of times, the respective books, which include, for example Czech translations of Steve Jobs’ biography, the erotic bestseller Fifty Shades of Grey and the popular A Year in the Merde. This offer will be available until the end of the year and was prepared by T-Mobile in cooperation with the eReading.cz portal. As a partner of the best Czech applications, the operator also cooperated with the portal on the development of the new eReading.cz application, which will make reading e-books more comfortable. The application is intended for both tablets and smartphones; it is now available for Android-powered devices and will later be made available for Apple devices.

The innovations are part of T-Mobile’s summer campaign promoting the fastest network in the Czech Republic. This time, the campaign revolves around the scouting theme. In addition to the standard media mix of TV, outdoor and print advertising, it uses much more on-line media than usual, including special content on YouTube, a contest to be organised on social networks and launched during August, or the microsite. On this site, customers can get tips on mobile applications and other advice and instructions (e.g., on how to light a fire without matches) and will have a possibility to send electronic, and for most of August, paper postcards.

The campaign was prepared by Saatchi & Saatchi, with the participation of Mediacom as the media agency; production was arranged by Boogiefilms. Four TV spots have been created, one of them in an atypical 60-second version intended only for cinemas. The spots were directed by Dominik Miškovský, shot by director of photography Jan Velický and again feature Lukáš Pavlásek and Vojta Kotek.
