T-Mobile and GSMobil Group Exchange Adapters for MDAs and Qteks Free of Charge

Prague, 23 January 2003 - RadioMobil a.s. and GSMobil Group a.s. have decided to exchange adapters which are a part of T-Mobile MDA (or Qtek) chargers purchased by customers until today. The reason for adopting this measure was the fact that the plastic part of the charger may get damaged if handled roughly. With respect to the fact that the device is directly connected to the power network, both companies have decided to introduce this preventive measure despite the fact that all necessary official certificates of independent laboratories (CETECOM, NEMKO, TÚV) and of the Electrotechnical Testing Institute confirm that the product is free from defects. An improved construction of the new charger type completely excludes the above-mentioned risk.

The customers whom the exchange concerns will soon receive a new adapter with an explanation letter per post. Those customers who cannot be contacted directly by RadioMobil should visit their nearest T-Mobile Retail Shop where the adapter will be exchanged free of charge. The users should either bring the old adapter to their nearest T-Mobile Retail Shop or take all necessary steps to prevent this device from being used either by themselves or by any other person.

In the case of Qtek devices, the old adapter may be exchanged in the GSMobil Group's a.s. service centre in Kostelecka 873, Praha 9.

For the time being, the exchange will be carried out without any time limitations. The newly distributed T-Mobile MDAs and Qteks have already been equipped with the new charger type.

RadioMobil a.s. and GSMobil Group a.s. consider it their duty to inform also users of telecommunications devices similar to T-Mobile MDAs or Qteks (so-called smartphones which combine advantages of a mobile phone and a computer) distributed in the Czech Republic by other sellers of the above-mentioned risk. Since the devices distributed to our market have been produced by the same manufacturer, it may be expected that they have been equipped with technologically identical chargers.
