T-Mobile and Komerční banka reject the allegations of illegal actions

Prague, 30 May 2008 - TV Prima's news report that was broadcast on 29 May 2008 during the TV Prima News program contained false information, viewed by Komerční banka and T-Mobile as an attack on the good reputation of both companies. T-Mobile never sold its client database to Komerční banka, and both companies acted ethically and in full accordance with the personal data protection legislation in force.

As one of the benefits under its loyalty program, T-Mobile started to offer a product developed in collaboration with KB. T-Mobile provided its project partner solely with the data that is essential for making an offer but does not identify or enable to identify any particular person. Therefore, no personal data was involved. Complete data - name, address, birth registration number, phone number - is provided by clients themselves only when they decide to activate the card by filling in and handing out the credit card activation voucher.

The contacted customers are only those who have not refused that their personal data be used for marketing purposes. The credit card is a joint product of TMobile and KB and is offered under the TMobile Bonus loyalty program. Customers use the card for collecting points that can be utilized within this program. Therefore, the card is a TMobile product and the contacting of customers is in full accordance with the law and with our business terms and conditions.

Both companies insist that their co-operation was prepared in accordance with the legislation in force. KB and TMCZ are ready to provide the Personal Data Protection Office with any assistance as is necessary.

T-Mobile is fully aware of the importance of customers' confidence as well as of the protection of their personal data. We would like to assure all customers that we always act ethically and in compliance with the legislation in force.

The information that TV Prima provided in their yesterday's news report broadcast is false and harmful to the good reputation of both companies. T-Mobile and Komerční banka will seek remedy and also consider taking legal steps.
