Prague, March 24 2009 - Heinz Schmid (1951), Executive Vice President Technology, has decided to leave TMCZ effective 30 April 2009. He joined the Technology Division as one of the very first employees in 1996. Since the very beginning, he has been in charge of the roll-out of our network, first under the Paegas brand and subsequently under the T-Mobile brand. The team under his supervision has been instrumental in building the voice and data networks, as well as in implementing internal systems and dozens of technology improvements not only for our customers but also for our employees. Heinz Schmid will continue his professional career within Deutsche Telecom group.

Effective 1 May, the position of Executive Vice President Technology will be taken over by Frank Meywerk (1964), the current Senior Vice President Radio Networks at T-Mobile Germany.

Frank Meywerk joined T-Mobile in 2004 and was responsible for network strategy as well as for planning, deployment and optimization of T-Mobile's radio access networks (GSM, UMTS, WLAN and NGMN). He led many important technology projects, e.g. TMD UMTS HSDPA/HSUPA implementation in T-Mobile's complete UMTS network (as first network in Germany) or the world largest GSM network modernization including EDGE deployment.

Frank Meywerk has more than 18-year experience in the telecommunication branch. Before he joined T-Mobile, he worked in the vendor industry for Siemens and Alcatel where he was holding several management functions.

Frank Meywerk is married and has 2 children.

In connection with this change, Holger Witte (1963), the current Vice President Radio Networks at TMCZ, will take over Frank Meywerk's position at T-Mobile Germany. Holger joined TMCZ in 1996 and during his time at the Company, he was responsible for planning and roll-out of the 2G and 3G networks in the Czech Republic and significantly contributed to the roll-out of - what the latest surveys have found to be - the best network in the Czech Republic.
