T-Mobile Brand Scored a Victory in European Trusted Brands Survey

  • T-Mobile awarded first prize in the Mobile Operator category
  • The brand T-Mobile attracted 660 thousand new customers last year
  • T-Mobile achieved significant growth in the business segment

Prague, 18 March 2003 - The T-Mobile brand has been awarded first prize in the Mobile Operator category in the third annual European Trusted Brands 2002 survey organized by Reader's Digest. More than 27 thousand respondents from 18 European countries took part in the survey, 1481 respondents participated in the Czech Republic. Data were collected in October and November 2002.

The customers' trust in the T-Mobile brand is demonstrated particularly by the fact that the company gained almost 660 thousand new customers in 2002, and thus reached a total of 3.5 million customers.

The T-Mobile brand also succeeded in the business segment where the T-Mobile share grew by 2.9 percentage points from February to December 2002 (information provided by t-Audit, AISA). Consequently, the T-Mobile share in the business segment grew to 40.1%.  The following significant companies became T-Mobile customers: Skanska, a.s.; ČPP Transgas, s.p.; Gity, a.s.; ING Management Service, s.r.o.; IBM ČR, s.r.o.; Nowaco Czech Republic, s.r.o. and The Ministry of the Interior.

The T-Mobile brand "scores" well also on the international scale - in October 2002, the T-Mobile group was awarded Best Mobile Operator in the category Europe, Middle East and Africa by the jury of the World Communication Awards 2002.
