T-Mobile chooses its LTE infrastructure supplier

  • Huawei to continue building the LTE network for T-Mobile CZ
  • After the launch in Mlada Boleslav, T-Mobile will continue the LTE rollout in 2013
  • Technology offers speeds of up to 150 Mbps

Prague, 5 February 2013 – T-Mobile Czech Republic and Huawei Technologies yesterday signed a contract for the rollout of a fourth-generation mobile network. After the successful launch of Huawei LTE technology in Mlada Boleslav, T-Mobile is prepared to extend its LTE network in 2013 using the frequencies allocated within the spectrum auction or the operator’s current frequencies. The network supplied by Huawei will feature the latest generation of eUTRAN technology, which meets high quality requirements and is also environmentally friendly thanks to low energy consumption.

The contract between T-Mobile and Huawei Technologies will bring fourth-generation mobile services to the operator’s customers – particularly mobile internet with speeds of up to 150 Mbps. The supplied technology is ready for operation in the bandwidths available for LTE, i.e. 800, 1800 and 2600 MHz. The infrastructure also enables sharing the LTE network. More customers will have an opportunity to enjoy LTE experience in this year.

Fourth-generation services and fast mobile internet will shape mobile services for several years to come. To be able to offer the best services to our customers, we have chosen Huawei Technologies, with whom we have been successfully cooperating for a number of years,” says Frank Meywerk, CTO at T-Mobile Czech Republic, adding: “A big task lies ahead of us – to continue the success of our 3G network, which is the best performing network in the Czech Republic. I am confident that we will offer the best high-speed experience to our customers also with our LTE services.”

Following our successful long-term cooperation we are really pleased to be awarded as T-Mobile’s supplier for their new generation mobile network. T-Mobile and most importantly its end users will have the opportunity to enjoy significantly higher bitrates and lower latency compared to the existing mobile networks, bringing them brand new user experiences with mobile broadband services”, says Zbynek Pardubsky, Deputy General Manager, Public Relations of Huawei Technologies Czech. “With respect to the outsourcing deal from last year, we extend our services with planning and deployment in this project”, he adds.
