T-Mobile extends its offer for businesses with virtual data centres

  • Cloud and telecommunications services from a single supplier
  • Cost savings on IT equipment thanks to IaaS
  • Fast and flexible solutions for ICT requirements

Prague 11 April 2012 – T-Mobile extends its offer of ICT services with virtual data centres. This new cloud service provides business customers with all the advantages linked to virtualisation – high flexibility, reduction of IT costs and use of state-of-the-art equipment. As part of the ProfiNet solution, large enterprises thus now have another option of purchasing telecommunications and IT services from a single reliable supplier.

“Pressure on increasing efficiency and reducing costs is nowadays felt by almost every corporate IT department. Our offer of providing infrastructure as a service will enable them to fully meet these requirements,” says Václav Štěpán, Vice President Business Marketing, adding: “For any company, virtualisation means not only cost optimisation, but especially much higher flexibility and reliability of operation.”

Providing infrastructure as a service – IaaS – relieves business customers of the need to invest in purchase of the necessary IT equipment, such as servers, data storage equipment and network elements. Thanks to on-line management, individual users can easily create their own data centres, providing a wide range of advantages compared to the traditional ones, all from the comfort of their office chairs. Customers always pay only for the services that they need and actually use, whether it is the required performance, capacity or expert assistance.

In addition to savings on investment and operating costs for IT, state-of-the-art technologies with professional technical support are available to all companies at any time. At the same time, they are provided with secure and permanently accessible data storage. Dedicated performance according to current requirements, the creation of one’s own virtual networks and geo-redundancy in case of an unexpected outage go without saying. Guaranteed availability is up to 99.999% and is graded according to the needs of individual users.

Services of virtual data centres include:

  • Virtual server
  • Physical server
  • Virtual network
  • Virtual firewall
  • Virtual router
  • Virtual switch
  • Virtual load balancer

The data centre that T-Mobile is using for this offer meets Tier III+ requirements. Redundant internet connection is ensured by optical links and further required connectivity can also be supported by wireless links.
