Prague, 29 November 2010 – The recipients of CZK 2.5 million distributed from the T-Mobile Fund are now known. The theme of the sixth annual T-Mobile Fund program conducted this year was “The Healthy Planet?. The evaluation committee selected 43 applicants out of 126 projects from the Louny district, Hradec Králové region and the district of Prague 11. These are the areas where T-Mobile has long been operating. Symbolic cheques will be presented to the applicants between 30 November and 2 December.

"We should not forget about the environment in which we live, even in more demanding times in terms of the economy. That is why we chose the 'Healthy Planet – Healthy Community and Healthy Environment' theme for this year,: explains Petra Pavičová, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at T-Mobile, adding: "I am very pleased that even with this very specific theme we received a great number of applications. It is good to know that organizations respect the environment while conducting their activities."

The T-Mobile Fund has distributed nearly CZK 37 million during its existence to the NGO sector, thus supporting 585 projects. This number includes this year?s 43 successful candidates, which will receive CZK 2.5 million.

The most difficult decision had to be made by the Community Foundation of the Euroregion Labe, which administers the T-Mobile Fund in the Louny district. Applicants from this area submitted 61 projects, of which 19 were selected. In total, CZK 1 million will be distributed among the implementers of these projects. Non-profit organizations from the Hradec Králové region, where the funds are administered by the VIA Foundation, were also very active, submitting 53 projects. Eighteen successful candidates will receive CZK 1 million. The committee for the district of Prague 11 evaluated 12 submitted projects, of which six will receive CZK 0.5 million.

Committees comprising representatives of the media, public administration, local governments and non-profit organizations selected projects originating from the initiative of local residents. The proposed activities should be aimed either at supporting a healthy community which promotes local culture, good community relationships among the residents and a feeling of unity with the place in which they live or at a healthy environment, including care of the landscape and small monuments. The maximum grant amount was CZK 100,000 and the projects must be completed in the following year.
