T-Mobile launches new voice tariff plans with bigger data allowances

Significantly higher data limits also for discerning customers

Unlimited calls throughout the basic range of voice tariff plans

Contribution of up to CZK 4,000 for the purchase of a handset

T-Mobile introduced a new generation of tariff plans for residential customers called Mobil, which the operator will launch on 2 April 2017. It differs from the previous generation in particular by significantly bigger data allowances, unlimited calls to all networks and a contribution for the purchase of a new handset. Customers using the new tariff plans can use the services without any surcharges throughout the European Union, as the EU Roaming service is included in the price of the tariff plans.

“We have prepared the new tariff plans not only for our customers but directly in conjunction with them,” says Juraj Bóna, Vice President B2C Marketing and Product Management at T-Mobile, adding: “We have spent a lot of time discussing with people so we would be able to define precisely the specific types of users and find out what their needs and requirements are.”

The new tariff plans are called Mobil, with the individual tariff plans labelled in the same manner as clothing sizes – S, M, L, XL and XXL. The portfolio begins with the Mobil S tariff plan charged at CZK 499, which contains, among other things, unlimited calls and a 500 MB data allowance. Analogous to the most popular existing unlimited tariff plan – S námi síť nesíť (“With Us Regardless of the Network”) – Mobil M is priced at CZK 799; in addition to unlimited calls and text messages to all networks, this tariff plan also includes a 4 GB data allowance (which is nearly three times more than with the existing tariff plan) and a CZK 2,000 contribution for the purchase of a new handset when signing a fixed-term contract. An overview of the entire new generation of tariff plans is provided in the table below.

Basic portfolio of new-generation tariff plans

* The contribution is provided in the form of a conditional discount and applies when customers sign a two-year fixed-term contract (and honour the fixed term).

Since an increasing number of users from (not only) the up-and-coming young generation do not greatly need calling and text messaging services and rather appreciate larger data volumes for an affordable price, T-Mobile newly offers a data tariff plan called Mobil DATA, which contains a 10 GB data allowance and is charged at CZK 499/month (i.e., at the same price as Mobil S). Within this tariff plan, calls and text messages can also be used occasionally. One calling minute costs CZK 3.50 and a text message CZK 1.50. The contribution for the purchase of a new handset upon the signing of a fixed-term contract can also be used with the Mobil DATA tariff plan.

All of the tariff plans described above can be combined with voice, SMS and data bundles, which are also newly being launched. Customers can thus supplement their tariff plans with new mobile service units according to their needs. An overview of the bundles is provided in the tables below.

All units from the basic voice tariff plans and the Mobil DATA tariff plan can also be used without any surcharge while roaming in the EU Zone. The operator is thus launching an offer that is in compliance with the EU roaming regulation two and a half months prior to its mandatory effective date of 15 June. In addition, the two highest tariff plans – Mobil XL and Mobil XXL – contain free units for international calls and text messages within the EU (300 minutes and 300 text messages in the case of Mobil XL and 1,000 minutes and 1,000 text messages in the case of Mobil XXL).

When the data limit allocated to a particular tariff plan is reached, data transmissions are automatically suspended and it will no longer be possible to continue using data services at a reduced speed.

Together with the launch of the new Mobil generation of tariff plans, T-Mobile will discontinue the existing S námi (“With Us”) tariff plans. All previously activated S námi tariff plans will continue to be valid until the end of their respective contract terms unless their users themselves request a change to any of the new tariff plans.
