T-Mobile offers Twist top-up coupons on-line

  • Effective new service available at www.t-mobile.cz
  • Customers can use a payment card to top up their credit on-line and will receive an automatic confirmation SMS

Prague, 7 May 2010 - T-Mobile offers a new possibility for topping up Twist credit. Customers can now top up their credit directly on-line at www.t-mobile.cz. To activate the service, customers need only a payment card issued in the Czech Republic and authorisation to make on-line transactions.

Customers can top up their credit in amounts ranging from CZK 200 to 1000 and enjoy the benefit of choosing any amount rounded up to the nearest CZK 1, e.g. CZK 231. To be able to top up their credit, customers must submit a telephone number to which they want to credit the amount, the amount of credit, an e-mail address for the confirmation message and the type of payment card.

The new application can be used by holders of any of the most commonly used payment cards in the Czech Republic - Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard and Maestro. The 3D Secure technology provides data protection and ensures that data on the purchaser's payment card are disclosed directly to the bank and not to the operator, so customers do not need to be afraid that their payment cards could be abused.

Another benefit of this service is the fact that customers do not need to purchase any coupons or call any numbers - the transaction is immediate. Users will receive a free confirmation SMS and can send credit to any Twist number. There are now several ways customers can top up their credit:

  • Using a payment card at www.t-mobile.cz
  • Through their Statement of Services
  • At T-Mobile shops
  • By using designated cash machines
  • Via internet banking
  • With a pre-paid Twist card
  • At cash desks/Sazka terminals in selected shops

"We expect the new on-line service to stir up great interest. Compared to the national average, the number of customers that pay with payment cards is 25% higher in our internet shop," says Michal Němec, Vice President Portal & Content Services.

According to a Mediasearch survey organized for the Association for Electronic Commerce (Asociace pro elektronickou komerci) in April 2010, only 8% of the respondents prefer using payment cards in Czech on-line shops. However, in T-Mobile eShop, this figure is 10%, which indicates that purchasers buying services or products from established companies are not afraid that their payment/credit cards could be abused.
