T-Mobile opens its doors to the disabled

Prague, 18 June 2008 - Within its corporate social responsibility program, T-Mobile has been cooperating with a number of organizations for the disabled for a long time. Its newest initiative in this field is to offer employment to the disabled. On 23 and 24 June 2008, T-Mobile will therefore host an open house at its Customer Centres in Hradec Králové and Louny, where those interested can find out more about particular job positions as well as take a look around their prospective workplace.

"We have long been aware that the disabled do not want to be passive recipients of aid, but that they are very much interested in finding a job where they can use their abilities," says Jitka Chocová, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, commenting on T-Mobile's plan, adding: "Therefore we have decided to start collaborating with the Konto Bariéry project for the disabled as the people from this organization have extensive experience in this field, and together with them we would like to address disabled people who would be interested in working for us."

T-Mobile has identified positions that would be suitable for disabled employees: infoline operator and telesales operator. These jobs consist mainly in providing exact information about T-Mobile products and services to both existing and prospective customers by phone, selling products and services, addressing requests and handling complaints and documentation, and activating services upon customers' requests. The number of positions to be filled is not limited; however, the prospective employees must meet the basic requirements: very good communication skills, secondary-school education, willingness to learn and expand their knowledge continuously. Candidates who successfully undergo the hiring procedure will be given induction training, including computer-skills training, organized by T-Mobile in cooperation with Konto Bariéry.

In order to give prospective employees an idea of the type of work and to familiarize them with the workplace, the operator has decided to host an open house at its Customer Centers. Following advance registration, those interested may visit the T-Mobile Customer Centre in Louny, at Komenského 2540, on 23 June, and the following day the centre in Hradec Králové, at Collinova 420.

Persons interested in registering for the open house at either centre may contact Eva Hajdušková of Konto Bariéry at 224 214 452 or 605 016 796, or send an email to eva.hajduskova@bariery.cz.

Corporate social responsibility program and promotion of equal opportunities

T-Mobile's comprehensive program of corporate social responsibility also includes the T-Mobile Fund, which is intended to support local initiatives throughout the Czech Republic, a volunteer program for its employees, and waste recycling on the company' premises. In 2005, T-Mobile became the first mobile operator in the market to enable customers to hand in their old handsets at retail shops for the purpose of ecological disposal.

In the area of social activism, the operator endeavors to create equal opportunities for men and women and strives to find ways for the disabled to utilize their personal and professional abilities.
