T-Mobile - past 24 hours 14.8

  • Information of the T-Mobile network usage in the past 24 hours

Prague, 14 August 2002 â?" The T-Mobile network experienced no significant outages in the past 24 hours. The network usage in the flooded areas increased by 80 percent over the usual weekday level.

Network capacity in the areas with the highest level of usage has been continuously increased. A mobile transceiver station (BTS) has been put into service in Kralupy nad Vltavou. Network capacity in Prague has been further increased. Dozens of base transceiver stations (BTS) are without electric power here. Stations located outside the endangered area together with the stations powered by diesel generators situated in key places cover the flooded areas. Thirty-one generators are situated in Prague alone. One of these generators even had to be carried by a helicopter.

â?śAt present, we try to provide the biggest number of diesel generators possible for the areas expecting the main flood wave tonight or tomorrowâ?ť, says RadioMobil Spokesman JiĹ?í Hájek.

The number of crisis lines which can be called within the T-Mobile network free of charge has also been significantly increased today. The crisis lines situated both in Bohemia and Moravia are free of charge. Calling the following numbers is also free of charge: 112, 150, 155, 156 and 158.

T-Mobile and the Municipality of Prague are cooperating closely to secure smooth communication between the Municipality and other units of the Rescue System. Based on a mutual agreement, T-Mobile is now sending all its customers in Prague an SMS including information of the crisis lines in the capital city. Furthermore, the Municipality of Prague has been provided with dozens of mobile phones with SIM cards enabling priority calls.

Today, T-Mobile has also offered lodgings for 50 â?" 60 evacuated people in its Call Centre in Hradec Králové. The premises are air-conditioned, equipped with a complete sanitary facility, a dining room, TV, Internet access, radio, etc.
