T-Mobile planning to offer advertising space on its portals

  • The lease price will be set based on an e-auction

Prague, 14 March 2008 - T-Mobile is considering offering advertisers space on the internet and mobile portals related to its services. Through March and April, the operator will select partners to which it will rent a specific part of advertising space. These partners will then be able to offer their part of this space to third parties for their advertisements. The selection of partners and the setting of the price will take place in a selection procedure also involving an e-auction. The submission date for the bid proposals is 28 March 2008.

T-Mobile has interesting advertising space which has hitherto been used only for promoting its own services. The aim of the selection procedure taking place in March and April is to find a partner (or several partners) that will rent parts of this advertising space from T-Mobile and offer them to advertisers. These entities will then have a chance to address T-Mobile customers and offer them their products and services.

The advertising space which T-Mobile is considering offering includes:

  • Banners on internet portals
  • Banners on mobile portals
  • Search engines on mobile portals
  • Promoted links on portals informing users of third-party services

The above-mentioned advertising space is connected with the following T-Mobile services:

  • t-zones.cz (including the on-line gaming portal), t-music.cz and Stage.cz internet portals
  • t-zones mobile portal (WAP users' homepage)
  • mobile internet portal for users accessing the internet using a handset browser or PDA browser

The selection procedure for the lease of T-Mobile's advertising space is open to all entities except for T­Mobile's direct competitors. The procedure also involves an e-auction which will take place in early April. Those interested can register for the selection procedure at www.t-mobile.cz/aukce by 28 March 2008. From 17 March, this website will include complete information on the tender and the requirements for the participants.

The lease agreement between T-Mobile and the selected partner(s) will be concluded for a period of twelve months.
