T-Mobile's 3G boosts speed

  • Download speed increases from 3.6 Mbps to 10.8 Mbps
  • Upload speed  rises from 1.5 Mbps to 5.76 Mbps

Prague, 1 November 2011 – T-Mobile is truly serious about internet speed and wants its customers to enjoy really fast internet access this Christmas. The operator has increased the download and upload speeds of all data plans from the current 3.6 Mbps and 1.5 Mbps to 10.8 Mbps and 5.76 Mbps, respectively, permanently. The speed of downloading data to a computer or mobile telephone has thus been trebled, while the upload speed is now nearly four times higher.

The increase applies to all new and existing customers throughout T-Mobile's 3G network using any of the plans listed below:

Internet v mobilu (Mobile Internet)

  • Internet v mobilu na den (Mobile Internet for One Day)
  • Internet v mobilu Standard (Mobile Internet Standard)
  • Internet v mobilu Klasik (Mobile Internet Klasik)
  • Rodinný internet v mobilu Standard (Mobile Family Internet Standard)
  • Rodinný internet v mobilu Klasik (Mobile Family Internet Klasik)
  • Twist Internet v mobilu na týden (Mobile Twist Internet for One Week)

Internet na cesty (Internet for Travelling)

  • Internet na cesty na den (Internet for Travelling for One Day)
  • Internet na cesty Standard (Internet for Travelling Standard)
  • Internet Komplet (Internet Complete)
  • Twist Internet na cesty na měsíc (Mobile Twist Internet for One Month)
  • Twist Internet Lite

With this increase, T-Mobile is responding to the ever growing popularity and use of mobile internet. It is still the only operator to offer its customers the enhanced HSPA+ technology throughout its network and it also wants to offer them the best user experience with the fastest 3G network in the Czech Republic. In September, the number of users of mobile internet provided by T-Mobile reached nearly 1.2 million, which is a 10% increase compared to the number of mobile-internet users at the end of June 2011.

The speed available under Premium plans supporting HSPA+ technology, which may reach up to 21.6 Mbps, remains unchanged. Practically all mobile-internet users of the plans listed above should notice the speed increase; however, the actual speed depends on the terminal device used by the particular customer to connect to the internet.

Customers can measure their current speed at www.dsl.cz/mereni-rychlosti or via the application of the same name directly on their handsets.

The mobile-internet offer is truly generous in T-Mobile's Christmas offer this year – users of monthly mobile-internet bundles received a double data volume for the lowest price, which they may use in the fastest 3G network for up to two years. As an extra present, customers can also purchase cool smart phones for special Christmas prices.
