CZK 1,002,600 RAISED IN THE SUPPORTING STORIES CAMPAIGN

  • CZK 1,002,600 will be divided among 20 stories
  • A total of 460 employees got involved in the seventh edition of the internal fundraising campaign
  • T-Mobile matched the entire amount donated by its employees

Prague, 6 January 2020 – For seven years, advent time has been linked at T-Mobile with the Supporting Stories (“Pomáhejme příběhům”) fundraising campaign aimed at supporting families and friends of the operator’s employees who are facing a difficult life situation, most often due to illness or accident. As part of the latest edition of the campaign, CZK 1,002,600 will be distributed to support 20 stories. Half of the amount was raised among the employees, while the other half was added by T-Mobile.

Within the project, employees nominate their family members and friends to whom they want to provide financial assistance. The stories are registered in a dedicated fundraising application through which money is subsequently raised. T-Mobile then matches the amount contributed by its employees. A total of 460 people got involved in the seventh edition of the campaign, contributing on average to four stories with an aggregate amount exceeding CZK 1,000. All registered stories ultimately received the amount they requested.

“We are happy that our employees have embraced the fundraising campaign and that it motivates them to take part in pre-Christmas volunteering activities. Its popularity is a commitment for us. We always watch impatiently whether the entire target amount will eventually be raised,” says Martina Kemrová, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Manager. “We are pleased to see that the fundraising campaign has also caught the attention of professionals. Last year, it won in the Employee Fundraising Campaign category of the Czech Donors Forum Awards and other companies now regularly take inspiration from it,” adds Martina Kemrová.

More than one million Czech crowns will be distributed among children and adults. The contributions will most commonly be used to pay for rehabilitation treatments and medical aids. The project will support, for example, a mum and her three children who were victims of domestic violence and ended up in a women’s refuge. The story has raised a wave of solidarity across the company and the employees helped the family furnish their newly acquired state-owned flat on top of the funds raised during the campaign.
