Jan Stanko (1976), who has been the head of marketing communication at T-Mobile for the past five years (and for the past two years also at Slovak Telekom), has decided to leave his position as of 31 August 2018. Jan joined T-Mobile (Paegas) right after completing his studies in 2000. During his time at the company, he was involved in the creation of a number of humorous and unforgettable campaigns such as Christmas with Chuck Norris and the series of commercials featuring Czech actors Vojta Kotek and Lukáš Pavlásek and Ivan Trojan.

Beginning on 1 September 2018, he will be succeeded in his position by Ladislav Báča (1968), who worked at Ogilvy & Mather from 2001 to 2014, first as managing director and then as CEO of the entire group from 2006 to 2014. In the past four years, he has worked as a marketing and communication consultant specialising in, among other things, the application of behavioural sciences in marketing and communication. During his time at Ogilvy, Ladislav worked on many projects that received a number of awards in the Czech Republic and abroad, including several gold EFFIE awards (for such clients as eBanka, Amundsen, Air Bank and the Czech Olympic Team) and awards from the Golden Clio and Golden New York Festival competitions. Under his management, Ogilvy was named Agency of the Year in 2013, the industry’s most prestigious form of recognition for communication agencies.

Ladislav Báča is also engaged in educational activities at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University in Prague, where he teaches marketing communication and behavioural economy while concurrently pursing a doctoral degree.

Ladislav is married, has three children (and two dogs). He enjoys spending his free time with family and practicing sports, primarily cycling, beach volleyball and running. His hobbies include literature and travelling, ideally with a rucksack on his back. Ladislav Báča speaks English, German, Russian and Polish.

Commenting on this change of personnel, Dušan Švalek, Residential Segment Director, said: “I would like to wish Honza every success in his further professional and private life and I naturally extend my thanks for his contribution of many years to the company and for his unflagging creativity. ‘His’ advertising campaigns were distinguished by his unmistakable touch, which helped place T-Mobile in the position of the long-term number-one communication brand on the Czech market. His work on the Slovak market also brought a breath of fresh air into Slovak Telekom’s communication.”

“I very much appreciate that our team will be strengthened by Ladislav Báča, who is one of the most recognised figures in the Czech communication business,” adds Švalek, concluding: “Telecommunications is among the fastest developing sectors and I am sure that a new perspective on the possibilities of marketing communication can help move both of our companies forward again.”
