Prague, 9 October 2018 – Five years ago, T-Mobile launched its own virtual operator under the Kaktus brand. Kaktus is intended mainly for young people and distinguishes itself by providing a simple and fair offer of services without obligations, primarily advantageous per-second billing, a data offer, the possibility for customers to choose their own number, and credit top-up with small amounts.

Since its launch, Kaktus has attracted more than 95,000 customers and is proof that prepaid cards with an attractive offer are still very sought-after and popular among customers. “In the past twelve months, the customer base grew by 17%,” says David Milota, Kaktus Product Manager, predicting that the operator will exceed the 100,000 mark by the end of this year. The largest number of customers are in the 18-24 age group, representing 36% of the customer base. According to a survey conducted by the agency Kantar TNS, Kaktus customers most appreciate the offer of data (63%), and they like the operator’s communication style (58%) and calling rates (52%).

Half of the customers purchase Kaktus services online. Customers can choose from four bundles priced between CZK 100 and 300; with each of the bundles, they also receive an extra 50% portion of data for use on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter. Without a bundle, the basic price of the prepaid service is CZK 2.50 per calling minute, CZK 1.50 per text message and CZK 1 per 1 MB of data. Traffic data show that customers most often use data services (80%), with voice services (13%) lagging far behind; only 7% of customers send text messages. Nearly seventy percent of customers top up their credit online, while others use Sazka payment terminals, newsagents and ATMs.

Kaktus also distinguishes itself on the market by not having had an infoline since its launch. All communication from and with the operator takes place via Facebook. Kaktus’s customer care team handles 11,300 queries per month on average. Seventy percent of queries are answered within 30 minutes. In addition to customer care, the very popular special credit top-up offers are also organised via Facebook. This year alone, Kaktus has given away credit worth CZK 14,006,000 to its customers.

As part of the celebrations of its fifth anniversary, Kaktus is today adding 100% extra free credit with every top-up. The double credit will be given to all customers who top up their credit with CZK 200 to CZK 500 between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
