  • The cheapest tariff plan for young people now with a unique offer for all music lovers
  • New customers who activate the BAV SE and BAV SE with Mých5 tariff plans will have access to 300,000 songs; the tariff plan price remains unchanged
  • Customers can send free text messages to 5 numbers and enjoy lots of music for CZK 99/month

Prague, 25 August 2009 - T-Mobile introduces another unique concept in the area of digital music downloads. Customers who will activate or renew the BAV SE or the BAV SE with Mých5 tariff plans, or switch to any of these plans from the prepaid service between 1 September 2009 and 31 December 2009, will gain free access to more than 300,000 songs from the Universal Music catalogue, the largest music publisher. As a bonus they will receive the complete discography of Pink.

Young people aged 6 to 26, for whom the BAV SE and BAV SE with Mých5 tariff plans are intended, can thus download plenty of songs without having to pay any fee for them or to download them. During the 12‑month period following the activation of the tariff plan, users can download songs, for example, by Eminem, The Black Eyed Peas, Lady GaGa, U2, The Cure, Chinaski, Ewa Farná and many more, and store them for as long as they wish; there will be no limitations as to their validity.

Songs for free download will be available in a separate catalogue which may be accessed only by the relevant users of BAV SE and BAV SE with Mých5 after entering their phone numbers. Users can download music directly on their mobile phones from the WAP t-zones and web'n'walk portals. From mid‑September, users can download music to their computers via www.t-music.cz. Songs will be protected by DRM; however, there will be no limitation as to the play time.

"According to our surveys, especially young people aged 6 to 26 are the most active music consumers. They listen to music on their way to school, during sports and leisure-time activities, or when they study. Music is simply an important part of their life," says Petr Dvořák, Executive Vice President Marketing at T-Mobile Czech Republic. "Therefore we have decided to launch this great offer, along with two new albums by popular bands, at the beginning of a new school year," says Petr Dvořák.

"Cooperation with T-Mobile inspired us to find a breakthrough model in the area of digital music distribution that would be beneficial to both partners. I believe that we have found a truly interesting platform that will appeal to a great number of young people and that will show them that if the conditions are reasonable, it pays to download and share music legally. Our task is to market the great work of our artists and to collect the relevant remuneration for them. This goal has been accomplished in this case and I believe that there are other interesting cooperation opportunities for the two companies in the future." says Tomáš Filip, General Manager of Universal Music.
