T-MOBILE EMPLOYEES AGAIN RAISE FUNDS WITHIN THE “SUPPORTING STORIES” CAMPAIGN

Employees proposed 22 emotional stories
The number of donations rose to 1,565
Employees raised CZK 532,200 among themselves

Prague, 18 December 2014 – Before Christmas, T-Mobile again organised a fundraising campaign titled “Supporting Stories”. Within the campaign, employees could propose a strong story of a person from their area and convince colleagues to support a good cause. A total of 448 employees took part in the campaign, raising CZK 532,200 among themselves through 1,565 individual donations. In accordance with the campaign’s terms and conditions, T-Mobile has added another CZK 299,200, bringing the total to CZK 832,400, which will be distributed among the recipients of the donations.

“We are very pleased that our colleagues took part in the fundraising campaign, which was conceived based on the idea of T-Mobile’s employees. Last year, ten stories of people in need were put forward. This year, that number more than doubled to 22,” says Uršula Králová, Human Resources Director at T-Mobile, adding: “The employees have our full confidence. All that is required is that they personally vouch for the recipient of the donation. We do not insist on any confirmations to relieve those whose circumstances are already difficult of any unnecessary administrative burden.”

The twenty-two stories are again connected by an unfortunate line of ill health, the central characters of 20 of the stories are seriously ill small children. These heartbreaking stories include several instances of poliomyelitis, mental illness, Rett syndrome and cancer.

In accordance with the campaign’s terms and conditions, T-Mobile will match the amount raised for a particular story with a maximum of CZK 15,000. If more than CZK 30,000 needs to be raised for a particular story (CZK 15,000 from employees and CZK 15,000 from the operator), the campaign continues among employees only and the company does not provide any additional contributions. Within the December campaign, each employee had an opportunity to publish, via a special internal application, a story of a particular person from their area who is in a difficult life situation. The person proposing a story donates the first CZK 1,000 to the story and tries to ensure that the remaining necessary amount is raised.

This year, each employee contributed to three and a half stories on average. The amounts raised within the campaign will be distributed to the respective families in January 2015.
