T-Mobile is the first in Europe to launch mood presence

  • The Mood Presence marketing tool targets a specific group of people
  • It can offer special discounts and inform users of job vacancies at selected shops
  • It runs via the latest version of the My T-Mobile application

Prague, 7 April 2016 - T-Mobile has been making time spent at its shops more enjoyable for customers by means of multi-sensory marketing for several years: they can listen to a specially compiled playlist or experience the scent of white tea at 16 such shops. Beginning next week, these services will be complemented by the new Mood Presence service, which uses the My T-Mobile self-service application. Every customer who opens the updated version of the My T-Mobile application at any of the T-Mobile shops from the middle of April will not only see a special offer tailored to suit the particular shop but will also receive a small gift. The operator is the first in Europe to launch the service.

“We are confirming our position as the leading innovator among the Czech operators and we are again the first operator to come up with a new technology. This time, it is a new marketing tool that helps us better target the relevant group of customers. We will also use it for recruitment of new staff at the particular shop, and we can inform customers of discounts, special offers at the particular point of sale and other attractive promotional offers,” says Michal Dvorský, Vice President Residential Sales at T‑Mobile.

“With the growing number of mobile devices across Europe, it is necessary to adapt also communication to customers and extend interaction with them to other channels. We are honoured that our clients using this innovative form of customer experience via selected applications, such as Nike in Australia and Office Depot, Food Lion and Belk in the US, will newly include the first client in Europe – T-Mobile Czech Republic,” says Ken Eissing, President in Store Media, Mood Media.

Communication via a selected application can be targeted at a particular shop but also generally at the entire Czech Republic. Technically, it works very easily – at a T-Mobile shop, a customer launches the latest version of the My T-Mobile application, which activates the microphone for five seconds and, based on an inaudible sound beacon in the playlist of the particular shop, it shows a localised offer. The service will be available from the middle of April on Android devices and will also be ready for iOS devices at the beginning of May.
