Prague, November 7, 2019 - Also the third quarter confirmed 2019 trend: T-Mobile saw growth in both the customer base and in the basic financial indicators. Consumption of fixed-line and mobile services grew, particularly in the area of data. The Operator further developed it´s liberated mobile data strategy – after extraordinary successful unlimited summer data campaign, it announced new generation of data-rich tariffs, introducing first regular unlimited data tariffs. TMCZ also continued building its fiber network, necessary for future deployment of 5G networks. When it comes to CSR activities, the Operator divided more that CZK 2 million among information literacy projects, proceeded in activities focused on free education of NGOs.   


As at 30 September 2019, T-Mobile’s mobile services were being used by nearly 6.3 million customers, of whom more than four million were contract customers. Fixed-line services, including xDSL, Pevný internet vzduchem (“Fixed-Line Internet over the Air”) and Pevný internet do zásuvky (“Plug-in Fixed-Line Internet”), are currently being used by 305,000 customers, which is 34.4% more than last year.

The TV service from T-Mobile on the IPTV and satellite platform is now being used by 124,000 customers the number nearly doubled in the past 12 months. Most customers use the Magenta 1 service.

Data, data, data

Unlimited data summer speeded up the data consumption significantly. Approx 774,000 customers used the offer, transmitting 9 543 000 GB just in June–August. The data transmitted in mobile network (include tariffs: Mobile data tariffs + Internet bez drátu) reached nearly 74 thousand TB (+83% y/y). The overall volume of data transmitted by means of converged technologies (mobile data, Internet bez drátu, Pevný internet vzduchem and Pevný internet do zásuvky) has grown by 104.6% year-on-year to nearly 228,000 terabytes.

Digitalization of customer care

T-Mobile is also increasing customer satisfaction by means of the My T-Mobile mobile application, which is now actively used every month by nearly 1.5 million customers, They represent approx. half of all smartphone users and quarter of the whole customer base. The most appreciated features are a clear overview of consumption and payments, easy payment method, number of special offers or competitions. Newly, customers can change their services settings in My T-Mobile app, as well. The interest in new tariff generation reflected also in the traffic increase on TMCZ´s webpage: the tariff listing page noticed 41 % y/y traffic increase in Q3 2019.


In the first three quarters of 2019, TMCZ continued to tune its LTE network, and repeatedly won the independent speed measurements by dsl.cz. At the end of October 2019, T-Mobile’s fastest mobile internet technology covered 99.19% of the population of the Czech Republic. Combined coverage with the 3G and LTE networks reached 99.27% of the population. The operator also continued to expand LTE Advanced Technology (LTE-A) which is now installed on 57.4% of the LTE transmitters. At the end of the September 2019, T-Mobile’s network included a total of 1,523 transmitters supporting LTE-A and download speeds of up to 300 Mbps. Another 845 transmitters enable download speeds of up to 450 Mbps, 1,189 transmitters up to 650 Mbps and 12 transmitters support download speeds of up to 900 Mbps.

Financial indicators

Total revenues from mobile and fixed-line services including hardware sales exceeded CZK 20.7 billion in the first three quarters 2019, which is a 3.3% year-on-year increase. The results confirm the company’s good performance and its position as the number-one operator on the Czech market.
